Reasons to Receive Hair Therapy

Hair therapy helps you to avoid and treat thinning and balding. Whether this is an issue that runs in your family or it is something unique to you, it will help you to promote growth and even look as you did years ago. There are several methods of doing this, but one of those most popular and reliable continues to be transplants. This will put more strands into your scalp and it is a highly effective way of re-growing what has been lost. While there are more noninvasive methods available, this is still the choice that many make on a daily basis. It gives you the opportunity to have the younger, fuller appearance that you want with few worries. When trying to regrow your hair, you are going to need to choose something reliable. There are many methods on the market because the need is so great. Before you choose the first over-the-counter product that you find, however, you should realize that there are some rather significant differences between them and something like transplants. The biggest thing to remember is that not all products are going to work. This may cause you to spend large amounts of money on things that end up keeping you exactly where you are.You should also remember safety and health. Some things out there might put you in danger, or they might not be the best options because they are not entirely safe. Something like a graft could actually scar you, which is not something that is just going to go away with time. If you want to be sure that you are not going to be putting your life in danger, you need to trust the type of hair therapy you choose. This gives you the ability to relax while the professional does the transplants. The amount of time invested also matters. This is more than just how long it takes to do the treatment, of course. With some types of hair therapy, you can cover a large portion of your scalp quickly and the recovery process is not too long. This will give you the chance to have the fuller appearance that you want without wasting a large amount of time. For many people, this will work in a very short amount of time and give you the chance to enjoy what you thought you had lost.Effectiveness is an obvious concern, and is often what people are most worried about. Luckily, many treatments provide you with a way to get the same full head of hair that you had years ago. You will be able to reverse the effects of thinning, regardless of what caused it, and have the appearance that you missed.

Losing Hair? Read Why Correct Grooming Is Absolutely Vital to Control Hair Loss

Most people never give grooming a second thought. Their Mum brushed and combed their hair for them when they were a kid and they just followed on in the same old way.But grooming is so very important and is crucial in maintaining healthy hair but it needs to be done correctly, especially with longer hair styles. The trick is knowing what type of brush to use and how to use it.How Brushing Creates and Maintains Healthy HairCorrect grooming benefits the condition and appearance. When done right, brushing massages the scalp, encourages increased blood flow, removes all the loose scales that become attached to the scalp and it also acts to distribute the sebum evenly through the hair.On the other hand, over-brushing, using the wrong type of brush or brushing too harshly can cause abrasion, hair breakage and split ends. It can also make your hair greasy and in the end can play a major role in hair loss.Forget the '100 Times a Night' Theory. If you ever heard of the age old theory about having to brush your hair 100 times each night, that simply does not apply any more. That was something people really had to do back in the day when they did not shower and wash their hair as often as we do now. It was the only way they could get all the dirt and grease out of their hair and keep it reasonably healthy in appearance.Choosing the Right Type of Hair Brush - 'Boar Bristle'Go for quality when you are choosing your hairbrush. Always use natural bristle brushes made from boar or other natural, non-synthetic or petroleum materials. Using cheaper versions will only irritate and cause damage to your scalp so it's just not worth it. Good combs and brushes are expensive as most of them need to be post-processed by hand. But long-term it is well worth the extra investment.Using a good brush is almost as effective as using a good conditioner. The purpose of a boar bristle brush is not to detangle hair. In fact, these brushes should never be used on knotty hair. Because of the thickness of the bristles, tangles will only get caught in the brush even more so you should use a comb to remove any knots and tangles before brushing.Boar bristle brushes are designed to thoroughly clean and condition the hair. The natural bristles attract any dust and dirt and collect excessive amounts of sebum; too much sebum clogs the pores and follicles giving your hair a greasy, unwashed look. A boar bristle brush spreads the sebum from the root down the length of the shaft allowing it to do its job of coating and protecting the hair.Regular Care and Correct Maintenance is VitalDon't save the pennies when you go to buy your hair brush. The extra benefits you get from using a top quality brush will determine not only your hair appearance but more importantly the condition of your scalp and hair.

Keeping Your Hair Looking Good

When a someone has great hair it is very easy to work with it. Hairstyles look better, the hair looks healthy and shiny, it photographs better, and also gives a great overall look to the model. But keeping your hair healthy is something that takes times and a lot of effort. Taking care of it one day and then completely ignoring it the next with not work. Every hair strand needs to go through a period where it is treated with vitamins and the correct hair care products before it starts to show its true beauty.Good care starts with the correct way to wash it. Shampooing your hair needs to be done carefully with circular movements. Try to massage your scalp for about a minute or two before rinsing out the shampoo. If your hair is particularly oily, then repeat the process one more time. Next, apply a small amount of conditioner to the ends. While the shampoo cleans your hair, the conditioner softens each strand and will make it a lot easier for it to be brushed thoroughly. The water you use for washing your hair should be cool rather than hot. Hot water can damage the strands, which in turn makes the hair strands very easy to break once you start brushing them through.Dry your hair on a cool setting as well, although not too cold. Keep the hair dryer a fair distance from the hair so that it doesn't burn it. Once the hair is completely dry, set the hair dryer on its coolest setting and blow dry the hair again with it. The cool air at the end of the drying process will firm up the hair strands for the brushing that will come next. Never brush your locks when they are wet. Wet hair is very elastic and breaks very easily when it stretches so much so use a comb instead. Also, when you are drying, it is always a good idea to use some sort of heat protecting product to prevent damage. Hair takes a long time to grow to its full length again once it breaks, so it is important to keep good care of it throughout.Every once in a while your hair also deserves a little special care as well. Hair masks are a great way to help hair get back its glow and also to give it some vitamins and minerals that are essential for its growth. There are a number of ways that you can make a homemade hair mask. One of the most popular ones is the olive oil and egg yolk mask. Mix them together, apply with your hands, and leave for about twenty minutes before washing hair. Or if you don't like home recipes, you could always buy a hair mask. They are specialized for different hair types, are made from different fruits and extracts and for different purposes. Just make sure to always read the instructions correctly when using them.Last but not least, food is also an important part of hair care. Eating a healthy and balanced diet ensures the correct function of all parts of the body, including the hair.

Body Enhancements Offered At Laser Treatment Centers

Laser technology is comparatively one of the latest innovations and it is being used in various fields for several purposes. It has also found many uses in the medical field especially in the cosmetic area. Most cosmetic clinics also have a laser treatment center within their premises. Some of the body enhancements and corrections can be effectively performed using laser treatment without having to undergo a surgery. Some of them include skin resurfacing, spider vein removal, hair removal treatment, and varicose vein removal.
If you have a symmetrical face you are lucky. Faces with perfect symmetry are known for its beauty. However, all thing should work together to make a face beautiful. At times people with good facial shape may have scars in the face or uneven skin color that may occur due to several reasons. Women that have facial hair would also like to remove them using laser treatments. A detailed look at the treatments can help you understand the benevolence of laser technology in the cosmetic clinics.
Uneven skins with scar marks can be effectively treated by laser treatment termed as skin resurfacing. The procedure involved in skin resurfacing is simple to describe. The patient after a care examination will be exposed to laser beams of required intensity on the areas that require resurfacing. The cosmetic surgeon would repeatedly pass the laser beams on the areas that need to be rectified. The laser beam gradually eliminates the uneven skin cells and produces an even and smooth surface. Often the patient can just leave home without having to worry. Post treatment care would be simply applying sun screens. Rarely a few may need more intensive post treatment care.
Spider veins and varicose vein removal procedures follow almost the same tricks. In both the cases a flexible needle or fiber that is capable of diverting the laser beam to the exact areas the needs to be dissolved is inserted in to the veins. A required intensity of laser beam is passed through the optic fiber on to the veins until the swelling is completely dissolved.
Laser hair removal is a very popular treatment offered by many cosmetic clinics. The procedure is very simple, the laser beams of specific intensity is passed over the areas where the unwanted hair has to be removed. The beam completely removes all the hair right from the roots. The skin would look very smooth and enhance the looks of the person. The good thing about the laser treatment is that most of the treatments require no or a little recovery time and this enables professionals get treatment at weekends and attend to their duties without any problem.

If I Stop Whatever Is Causing My Telogen Effluvium Hair Loss, How Long Before I Stop Shedding?

I often hear from people who are trying to figure out for how much longer they will have to deal with telogen effluvium. Often, they have read that this condition is caused my a trigger. So many will attempt to remove that trigger and then wonder for how long they will still be dealing with the hair loss.I heard from someone who said: "my hair has been shedding for about five weeks. I researched one of the new medications that I have been taking and I learned that it can cause hair loss. So, I worked with my doctor to find an alternative. That was over a week ago and my hair is still shedding just like always. It's not any better. I feel pretty confident that I have removed the trigger, so why hasn't my shedding stopped? How long is it supposed to take?"The answer to this question depends upon the trigger, the person involved, and whether or not you are actually dealing with telogen effluvium. I have had people tell me that their hair loss stopped within days of eliminating the trigger and I have had people tell me that it took many weeks or even a month or two for the hair loss to return to normal. (This was my own experience.) I have an opinion as to why people have such dramatic differences in their response. And I will explain that now. Please keep in mind that this is only my opinion. I'm certainly not a doctor or specialist. Much of my beliefs about this topic comes from own experience or from the experiences that I hear about on my blog. But, it seems to me that people who have external triggers have a quicker recovery than those with internal triggers. What I mean by this is that people whose trigger is external things like scalp issues, a reaction to styling products, or inflammation seem to notice a very quick recovery because the thing that was constantly irritating their scalp and causing the hair loss has suddenly been removed. On the other hand, people who have had an internal trigger like an illness, childbirth, or prolonged stress on the body seem to take a bit longer to recover. And I think that the reason for this is that, in the case of internal triggers, the hair has gone into the shedding phase in order to save its reserves since hair isn't necessary for survival. Once the hair cycle has switched from growing to shedding, it can take a while before it is actively growing again. But at that time, the shedding should decrease and eventually stop.Since this person had been shedding for about five weeks and she seemed to have an internal trigger, she still had a little bit of time until a course of true and typical telogen effluvium would be over. Most specialists will tell you that this type of hair loss takes about three months to resolve. So she still had a bit of time before she might suspect that she was dealing with another type of hair loss.I know that when you are shedding hair, it's easy to get very discouraged and to want for this to be over as soon as possible. But the good news is that if you have removed the trigger, better times should be on the way. And it was possible that in a very short period of time, this would all be a bad memory. If the three month point has passed with no relief, then you may want to take a closer look at what type of hair loss you are dealing with.

If you neglect your hair because of stress, it will lead to very inconvenient circumstances.5. Change your form of birth control - Hair loss is especially embarrassing for women, but female hair loss is quite common and one of the most popular reasons is birth control. Certain pills may have a negative effect on you and your hormones and one of its most common side effects is thinning of your hair.6. Hormones Matter - Hormones play a huge part in the vitality of your hair. If you're pregnant, just reached menopause, experiencing irregular menstrual cycles or experiencing anything that affects the hormones, chances are your hair will suffer for it. Now there's nothing you can do if you're pregnant as sometimes it's a normal part of it, but make sure you ask your doctor what's normal and what's not.7. Change your hair products - Some shampoos and conditioners may contain strong chemicals which do not sit well with sensitive hair. If you experience hair loss, try changing hair products. Try shampoos and conditioners made of natural ingredients.8. Comb your hair the proper way - Do not brush your hair directly after bathing; instead, use a wide tooth comb. When brushing your hair, make sure to never force it when it encounters tangles. Help untangle your hair using your fingers gently before brushing it again. Don't over brush your hair.9. Cleanse you hair - Too much residue from hair products can drag down hair, making it dull, brittle and weak. Twice a month, you may want to cleanse your hair of all the muck from shampoos and conditioners. Buy a clarifying shampoo and use it to cleanse your hair. This is also a good ritual to observe before changing shampoos or conditioners.10. Have a positive outlook on hair loss - When you find your hair suddenly thinning, don't freak out! This is one of the most common mistakes people make. They go out, try whatever product is there on the market and lose sleep over this problem. By stressing over hair loss, you are actually making the problem bigger. It can be prevented using natural means and all you need to do is to think straight and consider all your options. While some people may need more help and require the aid of a professional, others need only a few tips and tricks to keep their hair healthy and full. All you have to do is to pinpoint exactly what's causing your hair loss and combat it with proper diet, adequate sleep and natural hair care methods.

This helps in hair growth.Protein Treatment: The outer layer of hair is made up of protein and when it gets damaged, the inner layer is exposed to damage from outside. Protein treatment is helpful as it helps in providing strength to those areas that were damaged. Things You Can Do To Prevent Hair Loss

TIP! Avoid products used in hair styling to keep hair loss from becoming a problem. You may not be able to avoid these entirely, but you should keep their use to a minimum. While entrepreneurs, inventors, multi-conglomerate corporations, and other free-market entities are fervently striving to line their pockets with the development of a product that will forever cure the world of baldness, millions of everyday, ordinary people whose hair is rapidly thinning are desperately searching for a product or technique that could give them even the slightest glimmer of hope. If you use some of the tips that follow, you can prevent thinning hair or even reverse it in some rare cases.TIP! For men that suffer excessive hair loss, liquid saw palmetto is a good non-prescription treatment to try. DHT is a male hormone thought to cause loss of hair; DHT growth is decreased by the natural extract found in saw palmetto. The style in which you wear your hair can cause balding. Don't pull your hair up too tight, or wear rubber bands for too long. Hair products are better today than they have been in the recent past; however, there are still some that can harm your hair. If you pull your hair into a tight ponytail it can damage hair and the follicles.TIP! When choosing a hair restoration method, research all the treatment options available. Your research may reveal that sometimes spending a little bit more on certain products is worth it.You can reduce your balding by changing the routine you follow after showering. After you wash your hair, dry it by rubbing it gently instead of vigorously. Using a hair dryer is not recommended. If you must, use it on low heat.TIP! Talk with a professional regarding any symptoms or treatment options. Your hair loss should always be discussed with a professional before you begin any type of treatment.Avoid areas with high air pollution to avoid hair thinning. Pollution has been shown to cause damage to the hair because of the absorption of toxic substances into the body, and this increases the risk of balding.TIP! A wonderful way to stimulate new hair growth and prevent additional hair loss is regular scalp massages. To get optimal results while performing a scalp massage, utilize mineral oil or a different oil.If your hair is wet, don't brush it. Instead, use a soft towel to dry your hair and then allow it to air dry. Wet hair follicles are particularly susceptible to damage. Therefore, by brushing hair that is wet, you could lose it faster.TIP! Consider treating your hair loss with aloe vera. Many people insist that this natural element is effective at curing hair loss problems. These items can't help all the different types of baldness, and you will probably be upset if you are convinced they will make your situation better. While they have a chance of working, it is also possible that your valuable time and money will be wasted.Use hair treatments with care so that your clothes or sheets are not damaged by them. Let the treatment dry before your hair can touch anything. Before you cut your hair, let it grow in. Your hair will grow weak if you cut it each time it begins to become frizzy.TIP! Think about your life and what has been happening in it to determine why you are losing hair. Everything from a change in medication to a major life change can cause hair loss.Because many are convinced of the power of aloe vera in staving off hair thinning, you may wish to see if it works for you. Simply rub some Aloe into your scalp every night before you go to sleep. This helps to stimulate your scalp while the minerals help to make your hair stronger.TIP! Vitamin B12 can be found in many sources. You can buy supplements or just increase your meat and dairy intake. For those who have suffered severe balding, it may be time to think about purchasing a wig. It isn't a solution that sounds great to everyone, but a wig is a great way for men and women to deal with hair loss.If you do this one time a day, it can help your hair grow back. Take a couple drops and rub into your scalp.TIP! One vital thing to remember when hoping to stop loss of hair is to pinpoint the time it first began. In some cases, hair loss may be associated with a specific hair-care product, including alcohol-based gel or leave-in treatment.Think about your life, and especially your short term past, for anything that might have changed and caused your sudden thinning hair. If you've had significant events in your life or have changed medicines in the last quarter, that can cause hair to fall out. You may be able to stop your hair loss if you can understand the reason for it.Many different sources can provide you with vitamin B12. B-12 can be obtained in a supplement, or you can eat more meat, such as chicken and beef.TIP! Protect the appearance and health of your hair by limiting its exposure to harsh chemicals and pollutants. These harmful substances can affect your health, and poor health is one of the primary causes of hair thinning and loss.A fast solution to hide hair loss concerns is to wear a wig. Wearing wigs can be fun, they are fairly inexpensive and some look natural. Wigs are also easy to obtain. The look of a wig can be realistic and natural, since they are often made from human hair. Wigs can also be matched to skin tone. This information can help you find some techniques and products that can regrow your hair. Take advantage of these tips to stop your loss of hair.

How to Use Jamaican Black Castor Oil for Hair Loss and Repair

Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) is a natural unrefined variety of the oil extracted from the castor bean (oil nut). The difference between castor oil and Jamaican black castor oil is the method by which it is extracted. Castor Oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the seed of the castor bean (recinus communis). It has been used for centuries as a hair growth stimulant, to treat other hair problems such as thinning, breakage and also to enhance the texture and appearance of the hair. The oil is also known as Palma Christi (Hands of Christ), perhaps because of the miraculous healing properties with which it was associated in ancient Egypt and Rome. JBCO is extracted by a traditional method which is believed to retain all the essential nutrients of the oil and is easily recognized by its distinctive black color and characteristic odor. There are many benefits to using JBCO on the hair:1. Regularly applying JBCO to your scalp and roots is known to eliminate dry hair and promote the regrowth of hair;2. It adds body to thinning hair;3. The consistent use of JBCO can also help to reduce and prevent hair damage;4. Jamaican Black Castor Oil can camouflage the appearance of damage, while improving the health of your hair. The oil helps to hide the appearance of frizzy, damaged, and split ends. After using castor oil on a consistent basis, your chances of developing split ends will decrease. When it comes to hair care, JBCO is basically a treatment and oil for hair loss, thinning, breakage, dry hair and scalp. It can also be used to maintain healthy, growing hair. Here are some tips on how to use the oil:Use it to give yourself weekly (1 hour) hot oil treatments. Apply your JBCO to hair and scalp, then cover with a conditioning cap for 1 hr and allow your body's natural heat to condition and treat the hair. This will not only stimulate hair follicles, but it will also protect the hair's shaft.Add some to your conditioner for a deep conditioning treatment: Combine 2/3 conditioner to 1/3 Jamaican black castor oil in a bowl and apply it to your hair. Leave in for 15-20 minutes. Then rinse and style as usual. For hair loss, thinning or damaged hair: Massage the Jamaican black castor oil hair treatment into scalp every night for three minutes to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles. You may also purchase a scalp massager, and give yourself weekly scalp massages.

Sun Protection For the Hair

In those who carry the genes for pattern baldness, hair loss is inevitable. However, environmental factors can affect how these genes are expressed. Although diet is certainly one of these variables, sun exposure is another. How the Sun Can Damage Your Hair and FolliclesUV damage can age the scalp and compromise the health of the hair follicles. These rays interact with oxygen molecules on the surface. This can knock off single electrons, creating unstable free radical compounds. They will try to "steal" electrons from other molecules, which in turn creates a chain reaction that damages tissues like the hair follicles. It can also altar and weaken the protein structure in the cuticle (outer layer) and cortex (center) of the hair shafts themselves. Therefore, the sun can contribute to hair loss at the roots, or through breakage. This is also the reason why hair looks dry, frizzy and brittle over time as compared to our childhood years. Also, UV rays can also affect the hair's pigment, causing your natural color to fade. Many people are well aware that the regular use of sunscreen is essential for protecting the skin against premature aging and the development of cancerous lesions. But a new form of awareness is emerging on the importance of sun protection for the hair and scalp.Choosing ProductsLighter formulations are available as spray in mists. There are also sunscreens available as powders. These can be used on the scalp. But they are not very effective on your actual hair. To protect the shafts, choose other forms of products such as:(1) styling gels(2) leave in conditionersShampoos and conditioners which are marked as being able to protect the hair from the sun will be rinsed out. So these are not very likely to offer the best form of protection. However, if you plan to use hair sunscreens on a regular basis, you may want to incorporate a clarifying shampoo and conditioner to prevent the buildup of SPF in your hair. Some articles online recommend diluting regular sunscreen in water and storing it in a spray bottle to use as a mist.Wearing a HatIf you are interested in a more simple solution for protection against hair loss, you may want to consider wearing a wide brimmed hat or a baseball cap. Or perhaps combining products with protective gear would be most suitable for your summer lifestyle plans.Save Color Changes For Cooler WeatherIf you are interested in keeping your hair protected, try to postpone your plans for coloring until later (e.g. in the autumn or winter) The sun can interact with these chemicals and this will compound the damage to your hair.

A Basic Guide To Hair Loss

For most of us, having a full head of healthy looking hair is vitally important to how we feel about ourselves. But looking after our hair, especially long hair can be very time consuming. There are fortunately, an abundance of hair care products widely available to us and we spend a lot of money on keeping our hair in tip top condition.Although most of us enter the world without much hair, if any at all, we do spend a lot of our time trying to keep our hair thick and wholesome, many of us just try to maintain our thinning hair to the point of spending thousands of pounds on expensive surgical procedures, whilst some try to cover up the obvious bald patches with an ill fitting wig. Most of us will lose somewhere between 40 and 130 strands of hair each and every day. There are factors which will determine the exact amount, as every one of us is different.Certainly, we will suffer from a certain amount of hair loss during our lifetime and this will be dependent upon how we look after our hair. We more often than not do not notice lost hair, as it is very quickly replaced and doesn't show any signs of loss at all. Most of the time, any natural hair loss we suffer, goes completely unnoticed, however you may be aware any or all of the following symptoms:Hair on the floor of the shower or bathHair staying on your hair brushHair found on your pillowYour scalp is more obvious than beforeIf any of the above apply to you, then you have to realize, you're going to have to come to terms with a problem of thinning hair or worse.Of course, genetic factors can come into play as well, especially in the case of male pattern baldness, which can affect generation after generation of men in the family. If both your paternal and maternal grandfathers lost their hair at an early age, then the chances of you (if you are a male) losing your hair early are increased too.Coping with sudden thinning of your hair and hair loss is not easy. Many of us pride ourselves with the look and feel of a full, healthy head of hair and hair loss can bring on a lack of confidence and low self esteem, much anxiety and depression can be felt too. In more extreme cases, severe paranoia can develop which can lead to the onset of more serious mental health issues. But all is not lost. Whilst many men who start to lose their hair from an early age, do so without giving it much thought. They simply cut their hair short and see it as part of "life". But for women who lose their hair due to stress or a medical condition, it can be much more debilitating for them.

Hair Loss: The Problems, and a New Approach to Treatment

Hair loss is depressing, traumatic and embarrassing - I know because I've been there. If I had known when I started losing my hair, everything it's taken me over thirty years to discover, I'm confident that today I would have a thicker head of hair. Scalp problems can be equally unpleasant, and due to advertising pressure dandruff has become even more socially unacceptable than hair loss.Hair Loss (Alopecia) is a condition that can cause widening patches of baldness, and which is sometimes only temporary. It is generally accepted that Alopecia is an autoimmune disease. The Causes of Hair LossMany factors including illness, pregnancy, trauma, thyroid problems, diabetes, anaemia, crash dieting, and the use of steroids and chemotherapy can cause hair loss. The stress of modern living, the limits of time and money, all seem to be against us.Stress is one of the main contributory factors in hair loss and scalp problems and the pace of our everyday lives appears to force us towards a diet which increasingly relies on junk food. Our hectic schedules seem to leave us too tired to take proper exercise, and fashion dictates how we treat what should be one of our most treasured possessions: our hairWhen the problems start, we look for miracles where there are none, and seek instant help from people who are more interested about what's in our bank accounts than what's under our hats. The 'Miracle Cure'Over the years many so-called miracle cures have entered the scene giving brief hope, but unfortunately very little long-term help. Even with the comparatively recent discovery of the topical scalp lotions, Minoxidil and Propecia, the fact remains that few people have gained any lasting benefit even though some have been willing to spend large sums of money over extended periods of time.A New, Natural ApproachThere has long been a need for a new approach to hair and scalp problems that will give hope to all sufferers and that won't put too great a strain on their pockets. I firmly believe there is realistic hope for those who suffer from hair loss and other allied conditions, and I have spent many years researching these problems. After visiting the University Clinic Hospital in Wurzburg, and watching the clinic's use of natural products in the treatment of skin complaints, my conviction grew that natural remedies were the answer to many hair and scalp problems.Although time is a key factor, positive, natural scalp care will help the hair to re-grow and return to normal more quickly.A healthy scalp is directly linked to a healthy body. Because our hair is a bi-product of blood, it is logical that to allow the natural keratinisation (the conversion of blood to hair) to take place, the composition of the blood along with the blood flow need to be in their correct values.A Healthy DietWhat sort of food should we be eating to not only keep ourselves alive, but keep ourselves healthy? You know how it is - we're in a hurry - no time to prepare a proper meal. Just grab and go, as the saying goes. The basic guidelines for a good diet are to eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit. Not only that, but eating more raw fruit and vegetables as part of your healthy diet is essential. Make sure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals you need, and try to avoid junk food, sugar and fat, as much as possible. If the diet improves and the results of stress on the body is reduced, then by traumatising the scalp in a natural way, i.e. with lots of alternate hot and cold water massages, then the natural body's defence mechanism eventually takes over, and hair is produced.Remember, hair is formed as a protection for the scull, and it is not natural for a person to be suffering from an abnormal loss of hair. Because hair is a barometer of everything that goes on in the body, then as soon as the cause of the Alopecia is addressed, then re-growth eventually occurs.David Satchell is a Consultant Trichologist, and his company Eucaderm Ltd, was formed by David himself over 30 years ago. After a professional career as a top hair stylist with Vidal Sassoon, David and his team began ground breaking research into what causes many of the hair and scalp problems people are experiencing as a result of today's hectic lifestyles. David has now formulated a completely new way of looking at hair care, and has had over 70% success rate in curing alopecia.

Modern Techniques in Hair Transplant Repair

When a patient goes in for a hair replacement procedure the expectation is natural looking results. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. When hair restoration of substandard quality occurs, reparative procedures can be performed to correct the situation.Improving a "Pluggy" LookA common result from hair restoration performed with outdated techniques is a "pluggy" look, similar to that of doll's hair, due to the use of grafts that are too large. One reparative treatment to correct these initial hair restoration missteps would be to remove the grafts and dissect down, known as FUE plug punch removal. The grafts are then replanted in a more aesthetically pleasing pattern. Sometimes an FUE plug punch reduction can be used instead to simply reduce the size of some of the grafts, rather than completely removing them. The portions that are removed can be replanted in another area. Grafting additional hair can be another very effective way to achieve the desired effect.Minimizing Wide ScarsReparative procedures may also need to be used to repair widened or visible donor site scars. One technique is to excise the scar and then close the site. In the event the scalp is too tight to allow for the removal of the entire scar, tissue expansion may be required. A second method is to place additional grafts into the scar area. Although scar tissue supports a lower percentage of hair re-growth, as much as 80% can be achieved with the right techniques. In as little as one or two procedures a considerable difference can be seen. When thickened scar tissue builds up along the hairline, in the area of prior placed plug grafts, and creates a ridge, the endoscopic ridge reduction technique can be utilized. This ridging occurs in the deeper levels of the scalp and can be the result of poor healing from placing grafts that are too large or removal of these grafts through individual punch techniques. Several small incisions are required to remove the scar tissue causing it. Although many surgeons will not perform this procedure, it can produce great results when executed by a hair restoration specialist, especially one with a strong plastic surgery background.Another method to remove scar tissue requiring the expertise of a highly experienced specialist is surgical hairline excision. Surgical hairline excision involves the entire or partial removal of the frontal hairline. A portion as wide as 4cm may be removed which will include any unaesthetic grafts and scarred skin. A closure is then created with plastic surgery suturing. Both this technique and the endoscopic ridge reduction take under 2 hours to complete. Patients are typically comfortable enough to go out within 2 to 3 days. At 1 week the sutures may be removed and normal activity can resume.Patients who are facing the results of prior procedures that are inferior or out of date can feel comfort in knowing there are several reparative methods out there.

Will I Ever Get My Regular Hair Back After This Telogen Effluvium Shedding? How Long Will It Take?

I sometimes hear from folks who are so sick of living with the shedding that comes from telogen effluvium and are wondering how much time they will have to put in before the have a normal head of hair again.Common comments are things like: "for how much longer is my hair going to look so pitiful? I know that I have to be patient and wait for my telogen effluvium to end. I know that it takes time. But I want to put this behind me. I want to look in the mirror and see my normal reflection with my normal head of hair. How long an I going to have to wait? How long should it take?" Although the length of time varies from person to person and can depend upon a variety of factors, I will try to address this question as best as I can in the following article.A Typical Time Frame For Telogen Effluvium From Start To Finish: As I alluded to before, so many factors can go into recovery. But for the purposes of this article, I am going to assume that what we are talking about is shedding due to some change in the body or stressor like an illness or changing medications. I am also going to assume that there are no androgenetic or inflammatory issues. If this is the case, the typical time frame for this to run its course is about three months. I will say that some people tend to fare better than this and some fare a little worse. But twelves weeks is about average until you start to see a dramatic decrease in your shedding. And hopefully from that place, you will eventually see a normal level of shedding that looks like what you are used to. People often assume that this is the end of the story. But, you also have to factor in regrowth and the time frame for the same, which leads me to my next point. How Long Does It Take To Fully Regrow Your Hair?: People often confess to me that they assume that shedding out so much hair might mean that their regrowth is going to be compromised or particularly show. Again, unless there are other factors at play (like androgens and inflammation,) your hair should move from the shedding phase to the regrowth phase and you should seamlessly begin to regrow hair. With true telogen effluvium, your hair follicles should not be compromised or miniaturized, so you should see normal looking hair coming in. The question then becomes how long does it take for you to see some improvement in how your hair looks.Well, hair grows about a half inch per month. This can seem to be painfully slow while you are waiting for your hair to grow in. If you had short hair to begin with, you should see some definite improvement in a few months, with full recovery taking a half a year or more, depending upon how short your hair really is. If your hair is longer, obviously that means that there is more to fill in. You can usually measure the length of your hair and then figure out how long it is going to take. Just figure that for every inch of hair you need to regrow, you are looking at about 2 months. So if you needed to regrow eight inches of hair, then this would take about sixteen months. Don't get discouraged about this though. Even some regrowth can add volume and make your hair appear more healthy and thick. Also, if your hair is long, a blunt cut or bob can not only make your hair appear more full, but it will mean that your hair takes less time to completely fill in since you have lessened the length.
